Children Pursuing Musical Excellence

A Gala & Good Noise

Workshop with Gail Suderman & Good Noise VGC

On Saturday, Feb. 4, Cantare (ages 10-17) will participate in the Good Noise VIP (Voices in Performance) Young Artist workshop, along with other high school choirs from around Greater Vancouver. This all-day workshop includes a workshop on vocal development, and a presentation on early black pioneers in BC. In the afternoon the singers will learn 3 gospel songs to sing in the wrap-up mass choir concert.

Each participating choir will have an opportunity to perform two songs for the others. This has been a great motivator for learning our music quickly – we already have two songs memorized, and we only just started learning them in January!

Gift of Love Gala

The PMCC Choristers (ages 8-10) have been invited to sing at the Gift of Love Gala in Abbotsford on Feb. 18. This event supports the children’s hospice, Canuck Place, and all funds raised go to support the care of terminally-ill children and their families.

This is a special opportunity for the Choristers, as they don’t generally perform outside of the Christmas and Spring concerts. But they are ready for the challenge, and have already memorized their feature song, “Getting to Know You,” from the movie The King & I. Once they add a few touches of choreography, they will be ready to go!

The Pacific Mennonite Children’s Choir is dedicated to pursuing musical excellence through performance and opportunities to learn from others. For more information about PMCC and our various choirs, please visit our website.
